ChatGPT Adds Apple Messages Integration on Mac

ChatGPT's latest update introduces Apple Messages integration for Mac users, allowing the chatbot to read, search, and send messages through iMessage, SMS, and RCS conversations. The new Apple Messages plugin is available across all plans in the ChatGPT desktop app for macOS, working within both ChatGPT Work and Codex environments. By default, ChatGPT requires user approval before sending any messages, though OpenAI warns about privacy risks when granting persistent access. The plugin guide details revocation steps and known issues with tasks that disable approval prompts.

The feature currently only supports Apple silicon Macs, not Intel machines, and does not enable remote interaction with ChatGPT through Messages. Additional updates include synced pinned chats across Mac and iOS devices, and read-only Codex thread snapshots that can be shared via URL.

Site owners can now invite workspace members to co-edit Sites with collaborative tools, and some can change hosted URLs without redeploying. The Computer History feature is also expanding to Pro, Business, and Enterprise users in the EEA, Switzerland, and the UK, remaining off by default.
