Apple unveiled refreshed Mac mini and Mac Studio desktops featuring new M6 and M5 Ultra chips. The Mac mini now starts at $899 with the M6 chip—$100 more than before with only 256GB storage. It includes 12-core CPU, 12-core GPU with neural accelerators, and Dual 16-core Neural Engine for doubled AI processing power.

Users can configure an M5 Pro option at $1,699. The Mac Studio begins at $2,499 with M5 Max, while the M5 Ultra version starts at $5,499. The M5 Ultra joins two M5 Max dies via Apple's 4.4 TB/s Ultra Fusion interconnect, delivering up to 36 CPU cores and 80 GPU cores with 4.5X faster AI compute than M3 Ultra.

Both systems feature Wi-Fi 7 and 2.5 Gbps Ethernet. The M6's 2-nanometer design targets AI workloads for hobbyists, though the $300 price jump reflects 'AI RAMaggedon.'.
