Apple TV+ is expanding its acclaimed space drama universe with Star City, a Soviet-focused spinoff premiering May 29 with two episodes. The series runs weekly through July 10, coinciding with the finale of For All Mankind's fifth season. This parallel narrative explores the same alternate history timeline from behind the Iron Curtain.

For All Mankind, which launched with Apple TV+ in November 2019, has built a dedicated following through its reimagined space race narrative. Star City shifts perspective to follow Soviet cosmonauts, engineers, and intelligence officers as they compete against American counterparts. The series stars Rhys Ifans and comes from the same creative team: Ben Nedivi, Matt Wolpert, and Ronald D. Moore.

The spinoff promises a 'propulsive paranoid thriller' approach while maintaining the franchise's meticulous attention to historical detail. By exploring the Soviet space program's risks and triumphs, Star City offers fresh storytelling opportunities within the established universe. Fans can stream seasons 1-4 of For All Mankind now on Apple TV+, with the fifth season concluding just as Star City begins.
