Apple TV and Apple Music for Android are receiving significant updates, both featuring the addition of homescreen widgets.

Apple TV version 2.5 introduces three widget sizes (Small, Medium, Large) that bring the "Continue watching" carousel directly to the Android homescreen, allowing for immediate playback by tapping. These widgets mirror the functionality found on iOS and are currently rolling out via the Play Store.

Alongside this, Apple Music version 6.5 also gets a substantial update. It adds two new widgets: "Pins" for quick access to pinned items and "Live Radio" to start playback without navigating to the dedicated tab. These join existing widgets like Now Playing and Recommendations. A notable new feature allows users to share songs, albums, playlists, and lyrics directly to WhatsApp.
