Apple has introduced new Ambient Music widgets in iOS 26.4, bringing quick-play music controls directly to the iPhone Home Screen. The update adds two widget sizes that let users launch mood-based playlists with a single tap, expanding on the Ambient Music feature that debuted in Control Center last year.

The smaller widget offers one playlist choice from options like Chill, Productivity, Sleep, and Wellbeing, while the larger version provides one-tap access to all four mood playlists simultaneously. Users can customize which music plays for each mood, choosing from Apple's built-in playlists or their own custom collections.

These widgets require Apple Music subscription, priced at $10.99 per month, and won't work with Spotify or other streaming services. The feature represents Apple's continued effort to make music playback more accessible throughout the iOS interface, following similar integrations in Control Center and the Lock Screen. For iPhone users invested in the Apple ecosystem, the new widgets offer a convenient way to match music to their current activity without navigating through multiple apps.
