Apple is rolling out five significant updates to Apple Music with iOS 26.4, enhancing playlist creation and user experience. The update introduces Playlist Playground, an AI-powered feature that generates playlists based on user prompts. When creating a new playlist, users can enter custom prompts or choose from suggested ones, with the option to manually adjust the results.

iOS 26.4 also brings a redesigned interface for albums and playlists, featuring fullscreen artwork that dynamically colors the background using dominant hues from the album art. Complementary colors are sometimes used for visual variety. Additionally, the update adds an Ambient Music widget to the Home Screen, allowing quick access to mood-based playlists for Chill, Productivity, Sleep, and Wellbeing.

The update streamlines playlist management by enabling users to add songs to multiple playlists simultaneously through a new selection button. Concert information is now integrated directly into artist profiles, displaying upcoming shows with ticket purchasing links, venue details, and start times. These features collectively enhance Apple Music's functionality, making it more personalized and convenient for users. The service continues at $10.99 monthly or as part of the Apple One bundle.
