Apple is reportedly set to launch a new hardware subscription program called ‘Apple Upgrade,’ allowing customers to lease products on a monthly basis. This initiative aims to make pricier Apple devices more accessible, especially amid recent price increases and anticipated hikes for new iPhone and Apple Watch models.

The program, expected to debut next week via the online Apple Store and retail locations, will be optional, with outright purchases still available. However, a reported limitation has raised concerns: certain entry-level devices may be excluded from the subscription option. These reportedly include the Apple Watch SE, entry-level iPad, iPhone 16, and MacBook Neo.

While the program could attract new users by lowering the perceived financial barrier to entry for devices like the MacBook Neo, excluding the most affordable models could limit its impact.
