Adobe has opened public beta of its Firefly AI Assistant, a conversational agent that can trigger actions across Photoshop, Premiere, Express, Lightroom, Illustrator and other Creative Cloud apps. The tool lets users issue natural‑language prompts and watch the assistant coordinate multi‑step workflows without digging into each program’s UI. Availability begins today for Creative Cloud Pro and paid Firefly subscriptions, leveraging its existing Firefly models.

Beta participants also receive a library of pre‑built “Creative Skills” such as batch photo editing, mood‑board generation, portrait retouching and social‑asset creation. While the assistant handles the heavy lifting, users can intervene at any stage to tweak layouts, adjust colors or replace assets, preserving the hands‑on control designers expect from Adobe’s suite. These skills can be customized easily.

Adobe says the assistant will learn individual preferences—favorite tools, typical workflows and aesthetic choices—to deliver more consistent results over time. By surfacing context‑aware adjustments and even generating on‑the‑fly tools, Firefly aims to streamline repetitive tasks and free creatives for higher‑level decision‑making. Early feedback suggests measurable time savings. The beta rollout puts the technology in the hands of professionals right now.
