A Smith County man was arrested after allegedly attempting to arrange a prostitution operation involving a minor through an undercover sting. Christopher David Stevens, a registered sex offender, was taken into custody following communications with an undercover officer who posed as a 15-year-old online.

Stevens reportedly offered to book a hotel room and pick up the undercover officer for sexual activities, planning to facilitate further arrangements with clients for money. The sting began when the officer posted a commercial sex advertisement on a website known for prostitution and exploitation of minors, leading to contact from Stevens.

The arrest affidavit details how Stevens acknowledged he was interacting with a minor and expressed intentions to engage in sexual activities. Despite arranging a pickup from a bus stop, Stevens failed to appear for the meeting. He now faces charges of solicitation of prostitution involving a minor under 18 and remains in Smith County Jail.
