Former NFL quarterback Mark Sanchez is facing new legal challenges after a violent altercation outside an Indianapolis hotel in October. Sanchez, 38, was charged with felony battery and three misdemeanors following a fight with 69-year-old truck driver Perry Tole that left him with near-fatal stab wounds.

Tole's attorneys have filed new legal documents alleging Sanchez was under the influence of cocaine, fentanyl, marijuana, and alcohol during the incident. The accusations come from a preliminary investigation suggesting Sanchez may have taken 'multiple illegal substances' before the confrontation. Sanchez's attorney Andrew M. McNeil dismissed these claims as civil filing allegations, stating they should be 'treated accordingly' until proven at trial.

Sanchez was in Indianapolis to call the Raiders-Colts game for Fox Sports when the fight occurred. The altercation allegedly began when Sanchez confronted Tole about his truck blocking an alley where Sanchez was running sprints. Police reported Sanchez smelled of alcohol and was 'acting erratically' during the incident. The former USC and Jets quarterback was later fired by Fox Sports following the altercation. Sanchez has since expressed gratitude for support on social media while maintaining silence on the legal proceedings.
