Shannon O'Connor, the so-called 'Los Gatos Party Mom,' faced jurors Tuesday as prosecutors presented text messages showing her encouraging underage drinking and sexual activity. The 50-year-old mother of two is accused of hosting parties where she pressured minors to engage in sexual acts while she watched.

Text messages from a 2020 Las Vegas trip revealed O'Connor's son, then 14, asking for beer upon landing, with his mother replying, 'I'm down. Champagne? (Let's) hit the pool with drinks, lots of drinks.' Prosecutors displayed videos of pool parties at her home, showing teens dancing around her pool and jacuzzi where some alleged sexual assaults occurred. An investigator testified O'Connor recorded the footage from her kitchen while minors engaged in sexual activity nearby.

O'Connor faces 63 charges involving 12 girls and eight boys from Los Gatos High School. Prosecutors allege she used Snapchat to communicate with teens without parents' knowledge and controlled social dynamics among the group. 'When defendant threw parties for children, she did everything she could to hide these parties from adults and authorities,' Deputy District Attorney Joanna Lee stated. The case has shaken the affluent Los Gatos community, where parents previously trusted O'Connor '100 percent.'
