A Santa Clara County jury convicted Shannon O'Connor on the majority of 63 charges related to hosting parties where underage teens consumed alcohol and engaged in sexual activity. The 51-year-old Los Gatos mother faced felony sex offenses and misdemeanors after prosecutors alleged she encouraged minors to drink and have sex at her home between 2020 and 2021.

The jury found O'Connor guilty of sexual penetration of an intoxicated victim and multiple counts of child endangerment. She was also convicted of furnishing alcohol to minors and attempting to dissuade victims from reporting crimes. The prosecution presented testimony from 13 students who said O'Connor hosted parties while hiding them from her husband and neighbors.

O'Connor's defense attorney, Stephen Prekoski, expressed disappointment with the verdict but acknowledged the jury's diligence. The convictions will require O'Connor to register as a sex offender. District Attorney Jeff Rosen praised the victims for coming forward and called the verdict justice after years of suffering. The four-month trial concluded with O'Connor facing significant prison time for her role in the underage drinking and sexual misconduct cases.
