A 39-year-old teacher at Viewpoint School in Calabasas has been arrested for allegedly taking intimate photos of underage female students. Travis Takeshi Shojinaga, who taught at the K-12 private school for a decade, was taken into custody on campus after an 11-year-old student reported he was secretly photographing girls without their knowledge.

Shojinaga faces one felony count of possession of child sexual abuse material and four misdemeanor counts of annoying or molesting a child under 18. He pleaded not guilty at his Feb. 27 arraignment and remains jailed on $1 million bail. Prosecutors say he could face up to seven years in prison if convicted and would be required to register as a sex offender for life.

The school has terminated Shojinaga's employment and retained law firm O'Melveny and Myers to conduct an independent investigation. School officials emphasized that student safety remains their highest priority as law enforcement continues its probe. District Attorney Nathan Hochman called the allegations "disgusting and deliberate violations" of children's safety and rights.
