Lexus has claimed the top spot in JD Power's 2026 dependability study, marking the fourth consecutive year the luxury brand leads the premium sector. The brand's 151 PP100 score—measuring problems per 100 vehicles—was the lowest overall, significantly outperforming competitors like Cadillac (175) and Porsche (182). This result highlights a notable shift, as Subaru and Toyota failed to crack the top three in the mass-market category, where Buick (160) and Chevrolet (178) took the lead.

Lexus's dominance stems from strong performance across its models, including the IS earning the top model award and the UX and GX receiving accolades. Toyota Motor Corporation also excelled, securing eight segment wins. The findings underscore Lexus's sustained reliability edge, challenging traditional dependability leaders and signaling potential market shifts for investors and consumers alike.
