A gunman fired more than 36 rounds into an SUV in Dallas' Central Oak Cliff neighborhood, killing the female driver and critically injuring her male passenger. The victims' Cadillac, riddled with bullets, crashed into another vehicle near the Wynnewood Village shopping center around 7:45 p.m. Tuesday. Dallas police are searching for the suspect, who fled in a separate vehicle.

Investigators have not released a description of the suspect's car or identified a motive. The male passenger is expected to survive. The driver, 24-year-old Kayli Lopez, died at the hospital.

Police have not disclosed the relationship between the victims or the passenger's identity.
