Cummins Raises Outlook as Profit and Sales Climb

Cummins raised its outlook for the year after reporting higher profit and sales in the latest quarter. The industrial produces company expects revenue in 2026 to be up 10% to 13% from last year, versus the previous view of 8% to 11% growth.

Growth was boosted by accelerating orders for standby power for data centers, as well as improving North American truck markets. On Tuesday, the company posted a second-quarter profit of $932 million, up from $890 million a year ago.

Despite the profit increase, quarterly earnings of $6.73 a share came in below analyst expectations for $7.21 a share, according to Fact Set. Cummins noted the period included $29 million of unfavorable discrete tax items that pressured earnings.
