U.S. futures fell early in European trading after a climb on the previous day, driven by soft inflation data that revived hopes the Fed will keep rates steady next month.

Oil rose amid Middle East tensions as the U.S. threatened an indefinite naval blockade of Iran, with Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent raising expectations for “economic isolation” measures next week. Treasury yields climbed, gold slipped and is on track‑breaking a weekly loss.

The Dow Jones dipped 0.1%, the S&P 500 fell 0.02%, and the tech‑heavy Nasdaq slipped 0.04%. European indices were mixed; the Stoxx 600 edged up 0.04%, while Germany sports a 0.6% gain led by software firm Nemetschek at +9.1 Guerr.

London’s FTSE 100 slid 0.06%, pressured by miners like Antofagasta, Endeavour Mining, Glencore and Fresnillo. France’s CAC 40 was flat, and Asian markets weighed cooling U.S. inflation against new Trump tariffs on drone components. South Korea’s Kospi surged 2.4% on chipmakers, Shanghai Composite stayed flat, and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng fell 1.05%.
