Mideast War Fuel Shortages Spread Beyond Hormuz to Global Shipping Lanes

The UAE port of Fujairah, outside the Strait of Hormuz, is experiencing fuel shortages due to drone attacks disrupting supply, according to marine fuel trader Monjasa Group. This disruption is creating bottlenecks in one of the world's most critical energy trade routes. Uncertainty in Fujairah is forcing vessels to seek supply elsewhere, spreading shortages to Asia and West Africa.

Singapore has implemented fuel rationing, with some distributors limiting sales, as scarcity spreads regionally. Vessels face challenges loading high-sulfur fuel oil and very low-sulfur fuel oil at Fujairah due to partially closed terminals.
