NFL Free Agency Moves & Team Dynamics
The Bills agreed to terms with Geno Stone, a free agent safety, on a one-year deal, while the Lions added Roger McCreary on a similar contract. The Jets signed Andre Cisco to a one-year agreement worth up to $5.25M, and the Panthers secured Rasheed Walker as their new left tackle. These signings reflect a busy offseason for teams seeking depth, though New Bills safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson expressed no concern about negative perceptions regarding his role as a teammate, emphasizing his focus on performance rather than public opinion.
Player Signings & Strategic Shifts
The Saints signed Travis Etienne Jr., a move deeply personal for the running back, who named his son after the team, highlighting his family's roots in New Orleans. Meanwhile, the Seahawks commented on tax impacts, with GM John Schneider warning that Washington’s new income tax on high earners could hinder their ability to retain free agents, a challenge mirrored by other franchises in high-tax states.
