The Buffalo Bills have agreed to terms with safety Geno Stone on a one-year contract, a source confirmed to ESPN. This move comes as the Bills continue to overhaul their secondary, having already signed veteran C.J. Gardner-Johnson to a one-year deal worth up to $6 million. Stone, 26, brings valuable experience after a two-year stint with the Cincinnati Bengals.

Stone's addition is particularly significant as the Bills have not re-signed any of their outgoing free agents at safety, including Jordan Poyer, Damar Hamlin, and Darnell Savage. The team cut Taylor Rapp, their Week 1 starter last season, in a cap-saving move. Stone had a career-high 108 tackles last season with the Bengals, ranking third on the team, and his presence should bolster Buffalo's defensive backfield.

Stone's journey to the Bills included a reworked contract with Cincinnati that reduced his salary by $1.5 million. Despite an up-and-down season for the Bengals' struggling defense, Stone contributed to improvements in the second half of the year. The Ravens' seventh-round pick in 2020 has accumulated 312 tackles and 14 interceptions in six NFL seasons, making him a solid addition to Buffalo's revamped safety corps.
