Veteran safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson is joining the Buffalo Bills on a one-year contract worth up to $6 million, according to his agents Kevin Conner and Robert Brown. The move comes after Gardner-Johnson played 10 games for the Chicago Bears last season following his release by the Houston Texans.

Gardner-Johnson, 27, has recorded 20 interceptions in his seven-year NFL career, demonstrating his ball-hawking ability. Last season with the Bears, he contributed three sacks and 51 tackles while intercepting two passes in limited action.

The Bills are bolstering their secondary as they aim for another playoff run. Gardner-Johnson's versatility and playmaking skills should complement Buffalo's defensive scheme, providing veteran leadership to a unit that reached the AFC Championship Game last season.
