Vista Eyes $3bn Sale of Allvue Software Group

Vista Equity Partners is exploring a potential sale of Allvue Systems, a private-markets software and data provider, that could value the company at up to $3bn including debt, according to a Reuters report.

The discussions are in early stages, and no buyer has been identified or timetable set. This potential exit follows Allvue's abandoned IPO plans in September 2021, when Vista sought a $1.7bn valuation amid declining fintech valuations. A sale in the $2bn to $3bn range would represent a notable increase from those earlier targets.

Vista formed Allvue in 2019 by acquiring Alta Return and merging it with Black Mountain Systems, later expanding through acquisitions including PFA Solutions in 2024. Allvue now generates over $200m in annual recurring revenue, growing at more than 15% annually with margins above 30%.

The potential sale underscores the scarcity of independent private-markets software providers, especially after BlackRock's $3.5bn acquisition of Preqin in March 2025. Allvue remains one of the last sizable standalone assets in the space, offering Vista an opportunity to crystallize value built over seven years.
