PyLadies Dublin and Go Ireland co-hosted a hands-on workshop on January 20, marking the chapter's first official 2026 meetup. Facilitated by Ryan Talbot (Go Ireland) with support from Matt Brazel and Michael Twomey, attendees built their own 'cat' command-line tool using provided Python and Go starter templates. The event was sponsored by The Digital Hub and the EuroPython Society.

The workshop highlighted cross-language learning, with nine participants working in Python and two exploring Go. Organizers also announced a new online Python Study Group starting January 27, offering weekly coding sessions on Discord. This follows the chapter's recent introduction to Python workshop, part of a growing PyLadies Dublin Python Workshop Series aimed at skill-building and community engagement.

Looking ahead, PyLadies Dublin is collaborating with Dublin C++ for a February 24 talk on Python and Blender automation. The group is also calling for speakers, workshop facilitators, and team members to help expand local tech events. These efforts align with broader community initiatives, including support for the upcoming EuroPython 2026 conference in Kraków, Poland.
