On March 15, Golang Taipei gathered at Google Taipei’s 14th‑floor office for the language’s 10th‑anniversary celebration. Technical evangelist Evan Lin of LINE Taiwan opened the session, thanking Google for sponsorship and corporate partners for food, stickers, and bubble‑tea Gopher designs. The meetup drew developers eager to mark a decade of Go’s rise.

Lin’s keynote split into three parts: why he chose Go after a decade in multimedia software, the language’s evolution from Go 1.5’s vendoring to Go 1.11’s modules, and how community engagement can lead to a Go GDE title. He highlighted Project 52 as a learning path that sharpened his algorithmic skills.

Co‑speaker Kakashi Liu dissected real‑world concurrency bugs in Docker, Kubernetes, and etcd, drawing from a paper that catalogues common pitfalls. The session underscored the need for rigorous code reviews in fast‑evolving projects. LINE’s developer program, now hosting over 30 events, aims to keep Taiwan’s Go community vibrant and job‑ready.
