On October 22, LINE Taiwan’s Technical Evangelist Evan Lin hosted the 13th Chatbots Meetup at Tianlong Bookstore Coding Space, drawing developers from Taipei University of Commerce and the broader chatbot community. Lin shared recent LINE API updates and his own development journey, sparking fresh ideas for bot creators.

Lin unveiled key platform changes: Traditional Chinese news now streams on the LINE Developer portal, and the new Get Messaging Event API lets bots retrieve delivery, open, click, and playback data for broadcast messages. These metrics empower developers to fine‑tune engagement and measure success.

Speakers showcased practical tools: Kamigo, a Rails‑based bot framework, demonstrated form validation and a “Guardian Pet” chatbot; Bai Kairen revealed a Kubernetes Operator that auto‑deploys monster‑lookup bots, while lightning talks covered the 921 disaster bot, Bottender v1 launch, and a water‑dispenser advocacy bot.

The meetup underscored LINE’s commitment to nurturing talent through its Developer Community Plan, which promises over 30 events nationwide. Attendees were urged to join the official LINE Developer community (@line_tw_dev) for updates, and to register for upcoming DevFest and other gatherings that keep Taiwan’s bot ecosystem vibrant.
