Evan Lin, a Technical Evangelist for LINE Taiwan, delivered a hands‑on session on the LINE Chatbot API at Taipei University of Commerce on Oct. 2, 2019. The workshop introduced messaging‑API fundamentals and user‑experience guidelines, serving as a primer for participants entering the upcoming 2019 LINE Chatbot Dialogue Robot Design Competition.

The competition, co‑organized by the LINE Protostar New Star Program and National Taipei University of Business, welcomes students, developers, product managers and CUI designers. Teams may be unlimited in size, and finals consist of PPT presentations rather than code. A total prize pool of NT$200,000 incentivizes innovative chatbot concepts.

Beyond the contest, LINE Taiwan rolled out a Developer Community Program promising more than 30 events this year, including meetups, recruitment drives and conferences. Resources such as open‑source pet‑adoption bot code, the LINE Things blog post, and LINE Account Link documentation were shared, encouraging developers to experiment with the platform.

Interested participants can follow the official LINE Developer Official Community account (@line_tw_dev) for real‑time updates on workshops and competition deadlines. Organizers plan to publish detailed judging criteria later, and anticipate that winning bots will showcase on LINE’s official channel, boosting creator visibility.
