Partners Group has agreed to acquire a majority stake in AVK Power Solutions, the UK-headquartered data centre power specialist, with plans to invest over $1bn of equity alongside debt financing.

The transaction is being funded from Partners Group's fourth direct infrastructure programme, which held a final close at over $15bn last month, the firm's largest ever. The Infrastructure business now oversees more than $40bn in total assets under management.

Partners Group's ambition goes beyond backing AVK as a solutions provider. Alongside management, the firm intends to transform the business into a fully-fledged infrastructure platform delivering long-term Energy-as-a-Service to data centre operators.
