Google DeepMind is partnering with South Korea's Ministry of Science and ICT to accelerate scientific breakthroughs using AI. Ten years after the historic AlphaGo match in Seoul, this collaboration leverages Korea's leadership in AI innovation density and adoption rates. The partnership reflects a shared vision of AI driving national economic development and future employment.

The collaboration establishes an AI Campus in Seoul, connecting Korean researchers with Google DeepMind's most advanced AI models. Key tools include AlphaFold for protein prediction, AlphaGenome for DNA analysis, and AlphaEvolve for algorithm optimization. Research will focus on life sciences, weather prediction, and energy applications through partnerships with Seoul National University and KAIST.

50,000 AI Essentials scholarships already support Korean talent development. The initiative includes internships and joint research with the ministry's AI Bio Innovation Hubs. Additionally, Google DeepMind will collaborate with Korea's AI Safety Institute on responsible AI deployment, building on commitments made at the AI Seoul Summit.

By combining frontier AI with Korean scientific expertise, this partnership aims to unlock discoveries benefiting future generations. The collaboration signals AI's transformative role in national development strategies worldwide.
