Google is significantly boosting its support for the White House's Genesis Mission, committing $40 million in AI tokens and cloud credits. This initiative aims to accelerate American scientific discovery by a decade using frontier AI. Google DeepMind will provide DOE's Genesis Mission awardees with in-kind access to its AI for science portfolio, including tools like Alpha Evolve, Alpha Fold 3, Alpha Genome, Weather Next, and Alpha Earth Foundations.

Furthermore, tens of thousands of users across the Department of Energy (DOE) National Laboratories will receive one year of Gemini for Government seats and tokens. This platform is designed to serve as a secure AI backbone for research, operations, and administration. Practical applications are already emerging, with scientists like Dr. Henry Kvinge at PNNL using Alpha Evolve for complex mathematical systems and Dr. Steven R. Spurgeon at NLR leveraging Gemini to automate laboratory hardware interactions, drastically reducing calibration and image focusing times.

This expanded commitment underscores Google's dedication to driving innovation and tackling critical energy, security, and scientific challenges through advanced AI capabilities. The collaboration highlights how AI can fundamentally change scientific workflows and accelerate breakthroughs across the laboratory ecosystem.
