As part of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Genesis Mission, OpenAI is making significant commitments. This includes providing $4 million in Codex access to approximately 2,000 researchers, $3 million in API support for large-scale scientific campaigns, and up to $10 million in API usage for Genesis researchers. They will also offer specialized bioscience capabilities through GPT-Rosalind and early access to select models for national laboratory researchers.

These initiatives build on past collaborations, such as an AI Jam Session involving over 1,000 scientists and the deployment of advanced reasoning models on the Venado supercomputer. OpenAI believes that by combining frontier AI with existing scientific expertise and infrastructure, the U.S. can strengthen its leadership in science and drive economic progress.
