Southern Brave secured their first win of the season in The Hundred, defeating Birmingham Phoenix by 12 runs at the Utilita Bowl. The victory moved Brave off the foot of the table, into seventh place on net run-rate.

Phoenix required 14 runs to win from the final set of six balls when Luke Wood struck twice, dismissing Ben Dwarshuis and Scott Currie. A direct hit run out by Adil Rashid of Saqib Mahmood further hampered their chase, as Phoenix ultimately finished on 116-9, falling short of Brave's 129 target.

Will Smeed top-scored for Phoenix with 35, but was dismissed by Wood, who claimed figures of 3-24. Marcus Stoinis contributed with bat and ball, taking two wickets and scoring 34 runs. For Brave, Rehan Ahmed was the standout bowler with 3-25, while Luke Wood chipped in with a crucial 10 runs at the end of their innings. Despite losing wickets at regular intervals, Brave posted 128-8, with contributions from Marcus Stoinis (34) and David Miller (24).
