Ryder Cup organizers have defended record ticket prices for the 2027 centenary event in Ireland. Daily general admission will cost 499 euros (£434), almost double the 260 euros charged for the 2023 Rome edition. Richard Atkinson, European Tour Group's chief Ryder Cup officer, acknowledged the increase but defended the pricing as appropriate for one of the world's biggest sporting events.

Despite the European record, Irish prices remain below the $750 (£555) charged for last year's event at Bethpage Black in New York where Europe defeated the United States. Organizers have emphasized accessibility with practice day tickets from 89 euros and junior tickets starting at 20 euros, aiming to attract a diverse demographic of fans to the Adare Manor venue in County Limerick.

The price increase reflects the tournament's growing global profile since the Rome edition four years ago. Atkinson stressed their pricing strategy maintains accessibility while reflecting the event's status as one of golf's premier competitions. The centenary Ryder Cup takes place September 17-19, 2027, with organizers confident their pricing balances commercial reality with fan access.
