Ravi Bopara has announced the end of his 23-year county cricket playing career, confirming he will not feature in this summer's T20 Blast competition. The 39-year-old former England international, currently serving as coach of Pakistan Super League champions Karachi Kings, stated the decision was a tough one but necessary to pursue new opportunities in commentary. Bopara, who made his debut in 1999, played 120 ODIs for England including three World Cups and 38 T20s between 2007 and 2015, scoring three Test centuries with a best of 143 against West Indies during his 13 Test matches.

His county career spanned 12,821 runs at an average of 40.44, cementing his status as a reliable middle-order batsman and occasional medium-pacer across domestic circuits including the Indian Premier League and Australia's Big Bash. This marks the conclusion of a lengthy professional journey that began at Essex in 1999.
