Veteran all-rounder Moeen Ali has reversed his retirement from county cricket to join Yorkshire for the 2026 Vitality Blast. The deal includes an option for 2027, potentially allowing him to play alongside Adil Rashid. This move marks Moeen's return to domestic cricket after retiring from international play in 2024, ending a decade-long England career.

Moeen, 38, previously played for Warwickshire and Worcestershire, captaining the latter to a Blast title in 2018. Yorkshire will be his third county. The club is looking to strengthen its T20 side. General manager Gavin Hamilton anticipates Moeen's experience and leadership will be invaluable. The team is hoping to improve their record in the tournament.

Moeen expressed his excitement, citing the club's direction and the opportunity to contribute. He is eager to bring his experience to the team. Yorkshire has reached Finals Day only three times in the Blast's history. His presence is expected to boost the team's chances.

Before this, Moeen played in the Bangladesh Premier League and Abu Dhabi T20. He's also set for the Pakistan Super League. He was part of England's squads that won the 2015 Ashes, 2019 50-over World Cup and 2022 T20 World Cup, making him a valuable asset.
