Former England captain Jamie George will retire at the end of the 2027 season, signing a one-year extension with Saracens. The 35-year-old hooker, who has earned 105 caps and captained his country, plans to transition into a business career after his final year.

George, a one-club man since his academy days, has made over 300 appearances for Saracens, winning six Premiership titles and three European crowns. He captained England in 2024 and was a British & Irish Lions tourist on three tours, starting all Tests in the 2017 series draw.

Announcing his plans early, George said he wants to 'soak up every moment' of his final season. He remains motivated to help Saracens finish strongly, aiming to cap a legendary career defined by loyalty, success, and a rare one-club legacy in modern rugby.
