Manchester United head coach Michael Carrick has dismissed suggestions that the Old Trafford club are unmanageable, as he fights to preserve his position. The pressure on Carrick has intensified following a run of seven games without a win ahead of Sunday's Premier League home fixture against Bournemouth. His situation has been further strained by public criticism from senior players Lisandro Martinez and Bruno Fernandes, who questioned the club's recruitment strategy and his tactical approach.
Carrick rejected the notion that United are impossible to manage, responding simply: "No." While acknowledging that his team's performance in a recent 4-1 Champions League defeat at Como was unacceptable, he challenged claims that his side do not press or run enough, arguing that pressing is only one aspect of football. "You don't necessarily need to press to win games of football," he said. Carrick emphasized the need to return to the form shown earlier in the season and last campaign. Despite the mounting pressure, he confirmed maintaining regular contact with former United legends Sir Alex Ferguson and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, both of whom have supported him.
Carrick expressed full confidence in his squad ahead of the crucial match against Bournemouth, stating: "I definitely trust them, 100%.".
