Reigning champions Hull KR demolished Castleford 50-6 at Craven Park, making it six straight victories in all competitions and cutting the gap on league leaders Leeds to just two points. After a sluggish start to their title defence, the Robins have rediscovered their dominant form, moving up to third place in the standings.

Willie Peters, the treble-winning coach departing for Papua New Guinea at season's end, is seeing his side return to their best. Hull KR went 40 years without a league title before beating Wigan Warriors in October's Grand Final, and they now look like genuine contenders once more.

Castleford were their own worst enemies, shipping 50 points for the second consecutive week after a horror showing against Hull FC. The visitors missed 22 tackles in a error-strewn first half, with debutant Phoenix Laulu-Togaga'e among those guilty of costly mistakes. Tom Davies scored a brilliant hat-trick as the ruthless champions ran in nine tries, with Castleford's only points coming late through Krystian Mapapalangi.
