Elodie Riley, 17, and Delphine Riley, 19, raced each other in the 200m freestyle heats at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow's Tollcross pool. Delphine won their heat in 2:11.01, 0.67 seconds faster, finishing fifth to Elodie's seventh. Despite the sibling rivalry, both valued the familiar presence. "Coming to a massive international event like this, it's nice to have some sort of familiarity to ease us into it," Elodie said. They also swam the 400m freestyle Friday and will contest the 800m Tuesday. The field was led by Australian Olympic gold medallist Lani Pallister. "I'm feeling very inspired to hopefully aim for the next Commonwealth Games as well," Elodie added.

In bowls, Guernsey's Alison Merrien and Rose Ogier remain unbeaten in women's pairs, topping their pool with three wins including an 8-0, 10-0 drubbing of Zambia. Jason Greenslade suffered his second men's singles loss, falling 2-0 to Cook Islands' Royden Aperau after a tricky rink.
