England's fifteen‑player squad for the upcoming Women’s T20 World Cup has cancelled this weekend’s domestic fixtures to join a training camp with the British Army. The programme, held at an undisclosed UK location, will drill decision‑making, resilience and performance under pressure, according to team management. Players will spend the two days immersed in military‑style drills before returning to international duty.

The camp arrives a week before England open their programme with a one‑day international against New Zealand on 10 May, followed by three T20s in the series. After that, the side faces three more T20s versus India, before the World Cup kicks off against Sri Lanka on 12 June. Clare Connor, England and Wales Cricket Board’s women’s director, praised the opportunity as one of the world’s best high‑performance environments.

By immersing the squad in a high‑intensity setting, coaches hope to sharpen mental toughness ahead of a home World Cup that will attract intense scrutiny. The military‑focused camp replaces valuable match practice, but the Board believes the psychological edge gained outweighs the loss. England will head into their opening group game against Sri Lanka with a reinforced resilience mindset.
