Ben Pritchard, the 34‑year‑old from Mumbles near Swansea, will head to Amsterdam after clinching the 2025 European title in Italy. He and his Great Britain teammates remain in Varese to finish preparations for the World Rowing Championships at Amsterdam’s Bosbaan from 24‑30 August. Pritchard says the camp provides the best speed work, hoping it will set him up for future races.

He noted watching Australian rival Erik Horrie train, remarking that the outdoor sport means anything can happen. Pritchard also plans to watch the Welsh men’s and women’s hockey teams at the same venue, adding a personal touch to the trip.

Since taking gold at the 2024 Paralympics, Pritchard has set multiple world records and added the 2025 European and world crowns to his collection. He credits a heavy motivation from his coach Andrew Williams’ father’s passing during the Italy campaign.

Facing Italian competitor Perini หุ้น on his home waters, Pritchard feels the support of Varese’s club members, describing the venue as almost a second home after nine years of training there.
