Ai Ogura secured his maiden MotoGP triumph at Assen, becoming the first Japanese rider to win since 2004. The Trackhouse rider overcame team-mate Raul Fernandez in the closing stages, crossing the line more than two seconds clear. Ogura's victory came after a dramatic crash involving championship leader Marco Bezzecchi.

Bezzecchi lost control at over 200km/hr on lap three, sending his Aprilia flying into the barriers. Medical staff transported the Italian to hospital for further examinations, though his team confirmed he remained conscious without major physical or neurological damage. Despite suffering intense pain, Bezzecchi escaped serious injury.

Jorge Martin capitalized on the chaos to claim third place after starting from pole position. The Spaniard now leads the championship standings, with Bezzecchi slipping to second place despite missing last week's Brno round through suspension. Ogura climbed to fourth in the rankings following his breakthrough win.

Marc Marquez endured a difficult afternoon, finishing sixth before being demoted to seventh for exceeding track limits. Seven-time champion's struggles continued as Ducati team-mate Francesco Bagnaia and KTM's Pedro Acosta challenged early before both retired. The result reshapes the title fight with Martin assuming control.
