Arsenal has confirmed that France international defender William Saliba will be sidelined for an "extended period" due to a back injury sustained during the World Cup.

Saliba returned to London this week after playing a key role in France's semi-final run. Specialist reviews identified the back problem, which will require a rehabilitation period. Thankfully, surgery is not recommended, and the club is focused on supporting Saliba's managed recovery program.

In related news, Ben White has returned to pre-season training after a knee injury. However, Jurrien Timber is still rehabilitating from a groin issue and is not yet available. Cristhian Mosquera, Riccardo Calafiori, and Piero Hincapie are back in training and could provide cover. Saliba's regular defensive partner, Gabriel Magalhaes, is also expected to rejoin the squad soon.
