Welsh Fire captain Phil Salt led his team to a six-wicket victory over Southern Brave in The Hundred, snapping an eight-match losing streak against their opponents. Salt played a pivotal role, guiding Fire to the target of 135 with a composed performance.
With the match reaching a tense conclusion, Fire needed 14 runs from 10 balls. Salt, alongside Asa Tribe, steadily reduced the required runs. In a dramatic finish, Salt hit a match-winning six off Chris Jordan with just three balls remaining, finishing on an unbeaten 47 off 37 deliveries.
The victory marks a significant turnaround for Welsh Fire. The next Hundred double-header features London Spirit against Manchester Super Giants at Lord's, with both the women's and men's matches airing live on Sky Sports and YouTube.
