Gary Neville's digital sports platform, The Overlap, has finalized the acquisition of influential Manchester United content creator Mark Goldbridge’s YouTube channels. The deal brings The United Stand (2.26m subscribers) and That's Football (1.46m subscribers) under Neville's media umbrella. The Overlap confirmed paying an undisclosed seven-figure sum for the properties, signaling a major consolidation play in football digital media.

Neville, co-founder and executive director, stated the intention is to forge one of the world's most exciting independent football communities. Goldbridge, whose real identity is Brent di Cesare, has built significant traction through viral, personality-led reactions to United fixtures. This move provides Goldbridge the structure to scale his output, something he felt was necessary for his ambitions.

The expansion plans involve immediate editorial changes, including launching a new 'Stick to United' series featuring ex-players and journalists, alongside a 'Daily United' news broadcast. This acquisition directly bolsters The Overlap’s existing content slate, which already features big names like Roy Keane and Jamie Carragher on its flagship 'Stick to Football' show. Global acquired a majority stake in The Overlap earlier this year.

Goldbridge’s prior success included securing live rights for Bundesliga matches beginning in the 2025-26 season, proving his growing influence beyond typical punditry. Integrating these large, dedicated fanbases accelerates The Overlap’s goal of dominating direct, personality-driven content delivery to football supporters. The transaction cements The Overlap's position as a serious competitor in the digital sports rights space, especially targeting Manchester United audiences.
