London City Lionesses have secured former England goalkeeper Mary Earps on a two‑year contract after she left Paris Saint‑Germain. Earps, 33, made 22 Ligue 1 appearances last season, keeping 12 clean sheets as PSG finished third. The deal features an optional third year, and Earps will don the number 1 jersey, returning to the WSL where she starred in England’s Euro 2022 triumph and 2023 World Cup final.

The Lionesses, backed by American owner Michele Kang, finished sixth in their debut WSL campaign and are now targeting a top‑four push. Earps praised the club’s vision, citing a new training facility and ambition to ‘put a marker down’ quickly. The club’s investment in facilities aims to narrow the gap with traditional giants. She will compete with current No. 1 Elene Lete, adding elite experience and commercial appeal.

London City’s summer agenda also includes Spain defender Mapi León and talks with Ballon d’Or winner Alexia Putellas, signalling a broader recruitment drive. The squad now blends seasoned internationals with emerging talent. Earps’ arrival boosts defensive stability and raises the club’s profile, a key factor as they aim to challenge established WSL powers. The signing marks the most high‑profile acquisition of the window.
