Leicester City's promotion hopes hinge on fixing inconsistency

Leicester City forward Bobby De Cordova-Reid admits the club's erratic form must be corrected if they are to challenge for a Premier League return. The Foxes have won just two of their last seven Championship games, leaving them in 14th place. A last-gasp point at Wrexham moved them within five points of the play-offs, but automatic promotion now looks distant, trailing the top two by 12 points.

Their season has been defined by a potent attack and a leaky defence. Only five teams have scored more than Leicester, yet only two have conceded more than their 41 goals. They have kept just three clean sheets, with the last coming in September. This imbalance has prevented them from building the sustained run needed to climb the table.

De Cordova-Reid stressed the need for defensive solidity, starting with the forwards. He believes the team can score but must keep opponents out to build momentum. With 18 games left, securing a top-six finish is the immediate target. Leicester must string together wins to make the play-offs and salvage a season that promised more.
