Canada captain Alphonso Davies headlines the 26-player World Cup roster announced by coach Jesse Marsch, even though the Bayern Munich defender faces a fitness battle with his hamstring injury. Davies suffered the setback during the Champions League semifinal loss to Paris Saint-Germain earlier this month.

Marsch's squad features nine defenders, ten midfielders, four forwards and three goalkeepers. Alongside Davies, the roster includes Juventus forward Jonathan David, Southampton striker Cyle Larin and Villarreal midfielder Tajon Buchanan. Several players are returning from injuries, including Promise David after hip surgery and defender Moïse Bombito following a broken leg.

The goalkeeper position remains undecided between Maxime Crépeau and Dayne St. Clair, with both competing for the starting role during upcoming friendlies. Canada, ranked 30th globally, co-hosts the tournament with the United States and Mexico.

Canada opens Group B play against Bosnia and Herzegovina on June 12 in Toronto, with Switzerland and Qatar completing the group. The Canadians have never advanced past the World Cup group stage, though Davies scored their first-ever World Cup goal in 2022.
