Brenden Aaronson missed USMNT World Cup training Friday to marry longtime girlfriend Milana D'Ambra in Georgia. The Leeds United midfielder departed camp after Thursday's session and will return for Saturday's practice ahead of Sunday's friendly against Senegal in Charlotte.

Aaronson, 25, previously featured for the United States at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. He comes from a prominent soccer family in Medford, New Jersey - brother Paxten plays for Colorado Rapids in MLS while sister Jaden competed at Villanova. Their father Rusty directs Real Futbol Academy locally.

This personal milestone arrives as the USMNT prepares for their World Cup sendoff match. The federation has precedent allowing players brief absences for major life events, having previously excused Christian Pulisic from training to attend his high school prom during the 2016 Copa América.

Aaronson's return Saturday ensures he'll be available for selection against Senegal, maintaining his place in Pochettino's midfield plans for the tournament.
