Celtic Report £13.2M Profit Amid Managerial Turmoil

Celtic have reported a £13.2m pre-tax profit for the six months ending December, despite significant managerial upheaval and reduced revenue from missing the Champions League. The Scottish champions generated £59.4m in revenue, down nearly 29% from the previous year's interim figure of £83.5m, primarily due to their early exit from European competition.

After losing a play-off to Kairat Almaty, Celtic dropped into the Europa League, which contributed to the revenue decline. The club cycled through three managers during this period: Brendan Rodgers resigned in October, Wilfried Nancy was sacked after six defeats in eight games, and Martin O'Neill returned for the remainder of the season. Despite the turmoil, Celtic qualified for the Europa League knockout rounds and remain competitive in multiple competitions.

On the pitch, Celtic sit third in the Premiership, just a point behind Rangers with a game in hand. They've reached the Scottish Cup quarter-finals and will face Rangers twice in February. Chairman Brian Wilson acknowledged the challenges, citing the Champions League exit as a "bitter blow" and noting efforts to restore stability amid fan protests against the board's stewardship.
