Jarrod Bowen is stepping in to help solve drainage issues at Hereford FC, the non-league club where he began his professional career 12 years ago. The West Ham captain and England international will contribute financially toward a new drainage system after persistent wet weather left the pitch unplayable, forcing home games to be relocated to Redditch and Worcester.

Bowen's connection to the club runs deeper than just his playing days—his uncle Ben serves as Hereford's groundsman. The younger Bowen recalls formative moments playing on the Edgar Street pitch as a junior and wants to ensure future generations experience similar opportunities. His contribution, alongside founding shareholders, will fund work beginning this off-season.

The drainage improvements represent more than just infrastructure upgrades for Hereford. Chairman Chris Ammonds expressed relief about solving what he called "unavoidable" issues that plagued the club. Beyond competitive play, Bowen emphasized the importance of maintaining a quality surface for youth football finals, noting how the community gave him his start in football and why giving back matters.
